KEYNOTE: DELIVERING BUSINESS VALUE THROUGH ENTERPRISE REFERENCE DATA GOVERNANCE

Krystal Breeden, Financial Analysis Manager, M&T BANK
Doug Cosby, VP, Engineering, ORACLE

While many organizations are establishing enterprise Data Governance teams, very few have been able to make their governance processes “sticky” with sustainable business user adoption. This is because the implementation approach many organizations take is focused on technical data flows, not business-controlled governance. Ultimately, while an enterprise Reference Data Governance program will require IT support, the ownership and maintenance of the data should reside with the business users and Reference Data Governance solutions that are not designed for business participation are destined for failure. This session will focus on approaches any organization should take in:

  • Determining the core requirements for successful and sustainable enterprise Reference Data Governance
  • Understanding why Enterprise Reference Data Management requires the business to embrace and own the solution deployment
  • Leveraging the lessons learned from the bank as a case study for sustainable enterprise Reference Data Governance
