Philippe De Smedt is Principal Architect at Kaiser Permanente, where he focuses on data architecture and data management in support of clinical, health plan, and corporate systems, with specific interests in analytics, data governance, MDM, and metadata. Before Kaiser, he was Chief Data Architect at Visa Inc. Prior to that, Philippe worked on various aspects of data for many years, at Hewlett Packard Laboratories and Oracle, among others. He holds multiple patents in data mining. He received Masters degrees in Engineering and Computer Science from Stanford University and the University of California at Berkeley.
